I tried to make the title include as much detail as possible, here’s my issue:

The high-pressure power steering line on the 01 Ranger is too short to reach the explorers power steering pump. The Explorer’s line is threaded at the rack. I don’t know what type of connection the Ranger has, but it has a plate that holds the end down. The 4.0 Ranger seems to have the threaded end like the explorer.

Is there another Ford power steering hose that might work or do I have to go down the custom route?

It seems all the swap articles I read, you just need to use the longer Explorer hose. But in this article they mention a power steering cooler in this article. Are you using the power steering cooler?

The power steering hose that connects to the bottom of the reservoir to the PS cooler on the Ranger isn’t long enough, so you need to take the one from the Explorer and install it. Also the Power Steering Cooler Brackets need to be bent down some in order for the oil pan to clear it. Its pretty soft metal so it’s easy to bend.

(High pressure power steering hose (kind of hard to see, but in that manifold of (4) fittings, its the bottom right hand side in the picture)
