Looking for some insight on a voltage drop on TPS. Truck is 87 ranger 2.9 v6, I’m currently getting a bit of erratic idle and acceleration. I read to check tps , and at about half way to WOT my voltage drops when I get around 1.98, drops to 0.00 and then back up to 2.1. Head scratcher at this...
Can't find anything definitive on this. I have a 2001 3.0L V6 that I got a couple weeks ago. When stopped at traffic lights it feels like it's vibrating a lot so I used a scanner to check some metrics.
Cold starting the engine and letting it idle in park for 10 minutes:
RPM: ~900
Calc Load: 37%...
Sorry if this is in the wrong place or has been covered. I searched the forum and didn't see my issue.
That said.
I got my 87 2.9l 5sp xlt a few months ago and have been chasing problems ever since.
Currently it's dying and then doesn't want to start. I tried 2 TPS and with both the voltage...
I've been having high idle issues for a while now. When the engine is fully warmed it will idle around 1100-1200 RPM. When shifting gears the rpm's
don't drop. They only drop (very slowly) after I come to a complete stop.
The engine seems to run better with the IAC Valve unplugged, around 750...
I want to retest my TPS to make sure it's at 96v, I've done it before but I can't remember which terminals go where. And if you need a ground or which setting to use for the volt meter. I can't find thread which has the pictures of how to use the volt meter with it. Is there anyone out there who...
OK, '94 2.3l 5 speed, no AC, California emissions.
So I've been chasing down all these damn CEL issues, One MIGHT have been caused by a heater hose laying across the air charge/temp sensor. I'll update on that later.
Today I decided to test the TPS signals. OK, as follows, the main voltage...
First, thanks to you all for the info/enthusiasm I've read for the last couple of years. This is the first time I've posted anything as I have always been able to find what I needed to keep my Ranger running before. If I simply did not find the right thread or tech article or something I...
I have a 1991 Ranger 2wd 3.0L manual that has a high idle problem. When you first start it up, it revs high for a minute like it normally would when it's cold and then drops to normal or close to it. When you start driving and push in the clutch to shift, the throttle seems to stick at...
recently i swapped my blown up automatic for a manual, rebuilt the motor and put headers on. ran great! exhuast leak happened and blew a gasket. yanked motor and two of the stage 8 locking header bolts broke! many others bent just buy unbolting them. dont buy them if you value your truck cuz...
EEC-IV Problem
My “89 Ford Ranger” (2wd-4cyl-2.3 liter-manual transmission) runs fine under most driving situations. It does however have an occasional engine issue that I am unable to troubleshoot myself. Through some experimentation, I have noted some symptoms, triggers, and manifestations...
