Stock exhaust pipe size

Anyone know what the stock exhaust size would be right before the CAT on a 91 4.0? The exhaust is completely gone on this one and I'm looking at ordering something like a cheap cherry bomb turbo muffler or something, I think it's 2" but I'm not sure.

check LMC truck they have the section on replacing exhaust and may have the diameters listed

if everythings gone and you arent after a stock muffler replacement then why keep the stock size tube, upgrade to 2.5" and call it a day

Thats what I was planning on doing. The muffler I'm looking at has an inlet and outlet of 2.25", so if the stock exhaust is 2" I need to know this so I can get the correct adapter.

wait, the cat rotted off?

the pipe exiting the cat is either 2.5 or 3 inches diameter, but i think 2.5, so just get a 2.5 muffler, adaptors **** things up.

no, the inlet on the cat is an oval.

you need to find a test pipe or a new cat, or an exhaust shop that can make that oval.

there is no 'adapter' that you're likely to find.

you can use something like that, then put a cat after it, or in the middle of it.

I just crawled up under there and measured whats left of the pipe coming off of the cat. I was using just a normal plastic ruler (it's about to rot off, I promise ), but it looks like its 2" on the mark.

Now my question is, what am I suppose to do with this:

Looks rather menacing, doesn't it? By the way, i'm liking these new tires as I can easily slide up underneath this truck now. Theres a lot of space under there!
