i know exactly how you feel after i bought ranger back after a year it was a great feeling, and it was nice not having to worry about somebody else wrecking it.

It's not just about different. The TBI swap unlocks so much more power and reliability out of that poor, under appreciated engine.

By it's design the 2.8 has the potential to match the 2.9 for it's abilities. The TBI swap gets her darn close. If you dial in the fuel pressure just right, you can actually out do a 2.9, but you'll get crap mileage running that much fuel.

True. I've actually always wanted a 2.8 truck just to do the TBI swap. It would be a great learning experience for me. To remove all the carb stuff and install fuel injection and see the difference that it would make just by changing the fuel management system would be an awesome experience.
