Couldnt do it......couldnt stay away from a Ranger. Going to pick up this little gem tomorrow....

1993 Ford Ranger - Reg cab, short box - 4x4 - 2.3 L - 5 speed

Plan is a dedicated trail rig. It will get a junkyard lift, welded diffs, and mud terrains to start. When I have time/money, it will get 1-tons and a 302.....

I can tell ya they struggle although his should be the twin plug style it might help. I destroyed two 2.3 in my lifted '86 4X4.

I always thought that a 2.3. 4wd would be a fun/economical winter beater. Looks like it has a lot of potential for a offroad rig though.

yep... this will be stage 1 - welded diffs, mud terrains, and homebrew lift.

It is a dual spark motor. Funny story, guy told me it had a v6....I showed up and looked at it, told him it was a 2.3 4 cylinder....he thought it was a v6 because it had plugs on both sides lol.

It runs pretty good actually, well see how she does when I beat the living piss out of it!

nice to have ya back in the ranger world. keep us updated for sure sir! and explain your homebrew lift when you do it so people can understand the "cheaper" way of doing a lift and getting the parts that work best together!

Homebrew lift :

- explorer leaf pack (with weaved in ranger leaves)
- washer coil spacers
- possible body lift
- fender trimming

I never really left, but its not the same when you dont have a Ranger.
