A matter of perception, it would seem. Is the "crazy" ex enough so to return at some unforseen time, to wreak havoc on precious items or things of that nature?

Best bet is to find an old insurance card or something with the VIN# on it, buy a Carfax, run the VIN and see where it was last reported. Not sure if it would work with the age of the truck. Truck also may not even be local to his area anymore or not even be on the road anymore. Hope he has luck.

One of my dad's friends had a '69 Roadrunner. Loved the car but started a family... same old story that has been told millions of times.

Got the family grown up and out of the way and wanted to get another Roadrunner, found one just like his and bought it. Got it home and it was in fact his old car.

He just sold it again.

Me too. 69 Mustang fastback. 351C, major engine in that thing. Would haul serious ass. Dad sold it in 1991 for $1950 because he needed the cash. I had over $2000 just in the motor. That'll teach me to sink money in a car that somebody else's name is on the title. The body and interior weren't too great, but it had one helluva drivetrain. It was my firstborn child.

Actually if the VIN were to come up in CarFax he could have a chance of finding it. It would at least tell him where to look
