no poop break... i did that while watching beyond survival with les stroud (from survivor man) and eating my dinner at like 7... i started this thread at 12:20ish, finished at pretty much 6, with a 22 minute simpsons break in the middle (streaming with no commercials)

I'm too lazy to go back the extra pages and see who asked why he was going with an automatic but I'll give you the answer now that I'm in front of a computer.


The car is so tight he has to hang one foot out the window, you need two feet inside the car to drive a manual.

ya,i gotta concentrate on work(ewwww)for a few days...got a bunch of aluminum fab to do on some boats.might be able to sneak some car parts into the area whlie the tig welder's going,though.

while that is a valid reason for the auto(seriously-there's no room for a clutch pedal)-the biggest reason is that it was bolted to the engine when it was given to me

I would have suggested flappy paddle gear shifters but with the power band of that motor and the weight of the car I doubt that gear changes will be necessary.

too complicated.

my plan is still to keep the interior looking as close to original as possible,considering the obvious alterations.
for the shifter,i'll have a simple stick that looks like the original 4 speed shifter and boot(with the original shifter knob)but set to operate the auto trans.shift performance is not a real concern of mine.like you figured,i could probably get away with just a direct drive and a torque convertor.
