So, i was wondering this today.

i play guitar hero right, i play real drums right, i play hockey left, i golf right, i bat (baseball) right but am definately left handed... and of course i drive a "right handed" manual trans (normal left side drivers position)

I'm not sure if these are the exact guitars in the pic I was talking about, (still need to dig my albums out) but these are YJM Strats.....one in left, one in right obviously.

On a more serious note, I never understood why they do make left handed guitars. Both hands do equal work and I've met a lot of left handed guys who play righty and do a damn fine job of it since that's how they learned.

From what I understand, most left handed people who have never picked a guitar up before tend to naturally put it in the lefty position. Not that I don't agree with you, but you could go even further and ask why a right handed guitar doesn't use the dominant hand for fretting. It never made that much sense to me either.

I'm a lefty player. There's plenty of lefty guitarists that play right handed, I know someone who does. The only two famous ones I can think of are Gary Moore and Michael Angelo Batio, I'm sure there's many more.

Take a look at where the guitar strap buttons are. Looks like the one on the right is meant to be played backwards.

Yep.....that and if you look real close, you can see it's strung for a right-handed player.

Seems like the cord plug on top would make the cord all kinds of in the way.

Doesn't really make much of a difference. Once you pull it through the guitar strap I'd imagine it would be just about as out of the way as having it coming out the other direction.

Ahh correc!t I have an accoustic guitar and didnt think on electric terms.:icon_thumby:

No worries. I'm a bit fuzzy myself. :icon_cheers:

Hey been listening to grateful dead, the dead, ratdog, stringcheese and phish all night with ma whiskey and stuff so yea im fuzzy a bit too.:icon_cheers:

You guys are way ahead of me on the newer artists. I've got a pretty eclectic mix of music though. Everything from Vivaldi and Mozart to Fat Boy Slim, Kid Rock to NWA, Patsy Cline to everything Stevie Ray Vaughn ever published.

I've never played anything but I give kudos to the peeps putting their music out there. If you don't like it, don't buy it. (some of the stuff I have would probably make you puke - so?)

I bought one of my guitars from the brother of a guy I knew in TX, who worked as a cook at a Dairy Queen. This guy could play like you wouldn't believe, and he was lefty....but he didn't re-string, just flipped the guitar over.

So for those of you who enjoy Nightwish, I found this duet with Tarja and Anette singing Nemo together.

Tarja's voice is so much more powerful you can barely even tell Anette is singing.

I can't wait to see their new album though, now that Toumas knows what Anette can and cannot do, he should be able to write music that compliments her a lot more.

Very nice Topher. The new album is decent, but I still like DPP better.

Sent while I should be doing something else
