Some people listen to what they listen to because of what they are used to. People who grew up listening to country will listen to country for the rest of their lives. A lot of people don't like change or new ideas, it's just the way some people are. I listen to a lot of different kinds of music and I could really give a shit about what people say about rap, newer rock, techno, basically all hated genres of music. If it sounds good to me, I'll listen to it. Just ignore the stupid idiots out there and blast your music loud. Thats what I do.

It seems nobody can make an album I can listen to all the way thru without skipping a song or three here and there.

That pretty much sums up why i hate most (damn near all) bands these days. They are only good producing singles and cant produce a cd worth a crap. Really anything mainstream is no good, they are contracted to produce music, more local and lesser known artists can take their time to really put their all into it and not have to produce a cd once a year.

anyways, i listen to 99% of music, i absolutely hate country, with a few exceptions... johnny cash, some people think he's country, some of his songs are... he's a god, there are others i like, but i can't put a name to them right now... how about tom cochrane? some of lynyrd skynyrd could pass as country...

i also listen to megadeth, slayer, korn, metallica, acdc, and bands you guys would never have heard of... mindless self indulgence, porcelain and the tramps, i listen to a few (very few) rap songs, i've got classical on my general play list on winamp (the one that plays non stop) i've got richard wagner, (if you don't know him, look it up, ride of the vylkaries) i hate music that i hate, because it sounds like shit... i don't like rap, but i've got the geto boyz - still, i've got gnarles barkley - crazy... i've got a few of them just because it's nice to hear nothign but bass on my sub in the truck, after listening to a lot of metal with very little bass... i once typed out the bands i had (old collection i lost a long time ago) and i had something like 200 different bands, maybe 300... i had about 1500 songs on my computer, right now i've got 941 and counting

Another thing that gets me is so many artist's walk the razors edge of infringment. Their melodies and lyrics are a tweeked version of someone else's talents or lack there of. Don't even get me started on cover songs, 90% are ruination fails.

I can't say i hate any one band or particular type of music. I have my favorites (Black Sabbath before they gave Ozzy the boot) and i have my least favorites (most country and rap.) that being said i still do listen to Hank Sr., some Garth, and will smith satisfies my need for rap. to me its what the individual song has to offer either musically or in the message it conveys.

I couldn't agree more. you used to be able to listen to the radio and know instantly who you were listening to and what song you're listening to. now you cannot identify one song from the next. I've even heard DJs eff up their transition (that was __________, now here's ___________) and have to come back and correct themselves.

I love Daft Punk, who the F*** does Kanye West think he is remixing Harder Better Faster Stronger?!? another one that pisses me off is You Spin Me Round by Dead or alive, its a killer song. some wannabe rapper has some gay as hell remix of it out on the radio waves right now and it makes me want to go on a killing spree. Lastly covers: Fuel was written and performed by Metallica, avril you are a no talent hack, stop pretending to be anything other than ordinary.

Yeah I don't hate any particular band i just have a strong dislike to most of their songs...

For me i can usually find maybe 3 - 4 songs i like from any one band, more if its a genre I like and they sound similar to other bands i love.

I like Airbourne (sound alot like AC/DC), Eagles of death metal, Got me a new EPMD song... Most of my music i get from movies and games though. because when i hear the song i remember that part of tha movie or game that had me on edge. I love it.

Some people think that some music wouldn't be manly or accepted, and wouldn't admit they listened to a certain type of music in fear of being called out by their friends or peers.

Men should think for themselves, and listen to whatever tickles their fancy.

Hell, I listen to quite a bit "different" music. Eagles of death Metal (don't let the name fool you), Queens of the stone age, Crash Kings, Them Crooked Vultures....just to name a few.

I can listen to SOME country, SOME rap, Some hip hop, Some metal, but my main focus is kind of an Indie Rock scene, and the classic rock. Just my taste, and it's music that makes me feel good. If I have a song on a CD, it's because I like the song.

An artist could have 100+ songs, but I may only like 1 or 2. Or they could be the mighty Led Zeppelin, and I could own all 9 + albums. Would you believe out of all those songs, I really don't like black dog, rock n roll, and stairway???......all being on Led IV and being one of the most popular LZ albums due to those songs.
