Ranger in ditch and dakota carnage

Dodges are actually designed to have the bumper hitch explode as soon as there is any thing attached to it. its a fail-safe so their transmissions dont go off like a frag grenade, lol.

Well my buddy came by with his Chevy Blazer and we couldnt get it out. blazer just dug in and spun the tires. 4wd wasnt working right.

my coworker through is going to come later with his F-350 7.3PSD and....

A Bobcat!!

You might want to try using a strap that won't run the risk killing you when it lets go, and a pull vehicle with a proper frame mounted pull point. That strap you've got is a TOW strap-designed for pulling a static load. You need SNATCH strap that will stretch a little and give you a tug, snatch straps also do not have those brutally dangerous hooks on the end that snap off and fly into the back of your head. You're lucky no-one was hurt using the wrong strap and pulling from the bumper ball.

Sorry, I don't mean to sound like I'm trying to tell you what to do, but I hate seeing people do things that could be done more safely. There was an incident not far from me a year or two ago where a guy ended up with a tow strap snapping and firing the steel hook right into the back of his head. He lived, but just barely and only because they were at a very busy area and a helicopter was able to get there quickly.

yup it was half assed and well i payed for it. stupidly i have a recovery strap in my F150 thats more then rated for the needs that i dug out when we tried the blazer

Did you try the park brake? Set it half way and try to drive out.

If not, I guess I'll load up and gas up.

you don't have full coverage on it? Make it look like a fuel leak.

the Ranger is Free!!!

and yes it was a PITA to do even with the bobcat.

no pics as it was to busy and he was pressed for time

Hmm, a Chevy with the 4wd not working right. That's about as common as a Chrysler with front end and transmission problems.
