i have a question
i have a 1999 ford ranger with a 3.0L auto and i was wondering if it is possible to put a 4.0L out of a 2000 ford explorer in my ranger.

Yes it should swap in just fine. but you will have to take the explorer transmission as well as the 3.0L and 4.0L have different bellhousing patterns, you will also need to transfer the wiring harness and computer and then take your truck to a dealer and get the comuter and keys reflashed.

3.0L engine is pooched. motor mount broke off the block and cracked the block.
The problem i am having is the wiring. So what i am wondering is if i take the complete explorer engine bay harrness and put it in the ranger, will it work. But i noticed that the 3 plugs on the driver side firewall have some pins in different locations. Any help is much appreciated.
