so i found this article in the tech library http://www.therangerstation.com/tech_library/6040tobuckets.htm

on my truck my drivers seat goes across the center seat. the one in the picture looks like its just the armrest and the seat with no back? on my truck can i cut all the way up? then just glue some fabric to the sides? and throw seat covers on em?

If I understand you, you are saying the drivers seat goes 60% on the seat back and the lower portion? Yes you should be able to take off the seat cover, cut away the excess foam (leave a bit to wrap around the cut side, cut out the support structure for the extended section (make sure the remaining seat has support) and then cut down the cover to fit over the cut away area and wrap it around and under the seat.
When I did mine I sewed the cover together by hand, since I did not have a machine. Worked great, but mine was only the lower portion. Good Luck.

This guy has the older style of the 60/40 bench, I don't really see any reason why you couldn't. But if you eff it up, you will have an excuse to get some buckets for your truck. That's the way I look at it.

hahah yeah i was thinking it would be fine. lol yeah if i eff it up itll just give me a reason to hit the junkyard for some seats and a center console. for now im gonna leave it as is, i've decided to just buy the buckets when i can afford them... the whole reason for it was because i want a center console with some dammed cup holders.. but the $7 plastic one i bought works just fine.. :D

thanks to both of you for your input. who knows i may just end up chopping the center out. or ill keep the top just for the arm rest and build a center console that can double as a seat.. *shrugs*
