If you're looking at FWD cars now, how about a used Mini? Just make sure you get one with a stick shift. NO EXCEPTIONS!!!!

They look really nice in British racing green, yellow or dark blue.

I wound up getting a new car. I got 0% percent interest for 60 months, and 3 grand for my trade in, so it actually came out cheaper than buying used.

Mercury Grand Marquis or Town car. YOu can find one in excellent shape for around 6-7k and with real low miles. and they do about 26 highway and around 18 in town. Oh, and maintenance......not too bad really.

I would get a 2006-2008 TSX. Pretty peppy, handle great for FWD, relatively cheap to insure, looks good for reliability and the 6 speeds don't have the same problems as the 6 speeds in the Civic Si, Acura TL, Acura CL and RSX-S. I test drove one, I wanted it, but the practical side of me wouldn't let me buy it.

I looked at American cars first. I couldn't find one that met my criteria, so I started looking at imports. As I've said before, I'm not going to spend my hard-earned money on a car I don't want just to satisfy someone's misguided notion of patriotism.
