if i slip the rear tires, my abs light comes on, any chance that this is just a fluke electrical problem or do i have an actual problem. the light stays one untill i turn it off.

Well i kinda had the same problem but under normal driving. My abs light would come on and then go off very random so i replaced the speed sensor on top of the rear axle housing and walla never came back again. Pretty cheap fix got one for like 15.00 dollars from ford and was very easy to change. Because it's cheap it might be worth trying before you bring it to a shop and get bent over. Hope this helps:icon_hornsup:

cool thanks, that sounds like somthing i could do easilly

Apparently Ford's system is a bit too quick to see the "problem"

The light is likely being triggered by the ABS sensor input from the rear diff, while the front sensors are simultaneously providing little or no input. The system sees this as a fault and triggers the light (probably also disabling the ABS system until the ignition is cycled).

Probably nothing you can do about it except just not spin the tires (although that might not be much fun if it was while mudwhomping or having fun you were spinning them lol ).

If the light comes on while driving normally though, then I'd say chances are better the fault is real (try pulling the codes. If it says "sensor output out of sync" or something along that line, then its what I mentioned above)

ok well i havent had it come on under normal driving conditions

tires cost to much to waste rubber with spinning :icon_twisted:

we run into this problem all the time in the shop. sometimes to diagnose a vibration or driveline noise, its easiest to start the vehicle on the lift and have someone run it up to speed while you poke around under it. since only the drive tires spin, it trips an ABS light every time.

whats worse is vehicles with traction control. if you forget to turn the TCS off, you can floor it and the tires will barely move.
