i recently purchased a set of ballistic fabrications adjustable upper coil buckets because i saw them on a truck and they looked like they worked out pretty good. i was wondering if anyone had any advice about installing these in the correct location and what to do about the bulge on the frame on the drivers side. any advice would be greatly appreciated and pictures would be awesome. thanks guys

you could fill in the driver side. as far as location, I would just put them in the stock location unless you plan on moving the axle forward.
I thought of using those buckets and after some thinking I didn't want headache of welding them to the frame. I didn't want to weld anything to the frame.

i notched the frame and plated it to make it flat it worked out prity good

I did it. It is a tight fit but you can make it work.

thanks for the pictures. that gives me a good idea of how to mount those coil buckets. i will post some pics when i get them mounted up

I just set mine down on the ground and found out that if you are using them for a stock width axle you need to drill another hole for the coil retainer to move the coil closer to the frame.

I'm thinking about getting these for my 78/79 FW 44. Anymore install pics or tips.

Check my build thread for more pictures. I just took some C channel and made a spacer to mount one of the brackets to. I love the adjust-ability of these mounts. One thing I would have done different though is grind the forward one down so that they sit level with the frame. I mounted mine at a slight angle because of the way the frame tapers upward towards the front.

here is the bracket I made.

I used these and showed what I did. Read my build thread. They worked out perfect for me on spring spacing.
