started lookin on the net to see what price I'd be lookin at and found this one a few places made by "Silla" tank link. scroll down a little bit and check it out. it says it mounts under the cab, is that the tank I'm lookin for? around 100 bucks new sounds like a deal to me

under the cab? How does that work?

As for the sending unit, you need the correct sending unit for the tank, and you'll need to put your pump on that unit..heres my sending unit with my stock 4.0l pump on it.

yeah the mounting under the cab is what threw me off, that's why I posted the link. I'll probably just check with the local dealer to see what one is new (curious), then call the yard in decatur to see if they have the truck and go from there. no intraweb crap ha

stopped by the local for dealer today and they said they couldn't get a new tank. wtf? how could they just stop making em, its not THAT old. that dealer sucks though, I may call another one in a couple days to see if they can help.

nope, nothing is available..so if you decide to do it, stock up on extra pieces!

I have a fuel cell bolted to the bed in the back of my Explorer. It's all aluminum and came out of a Cessna 150 airplane. I used the stock pump assembly and modified the fuel gauge float so I have an accurate fuel level reading. It works real well, I have no problems, except a few odd looks when I go to fill up.

ah I see. that's wierd that they just stop producing em, it wasn't that long ago. so if get a hole in your tank you'd have to swap to the under cab setup-that sucks. I'll email those guys and the local yard that says they have one and go from there. I'll keep you guys updated, thanks for all the help

edit: I realized that the rear axle tank was an auxilary tank, they have the under cab tank too. wow I'm dumb, that's what I get for posting past my bedtime lol

emailed alpha auto and they're gonna hook me up with the tank, now I just gotta call the yard to see if they have the truck for the crossmembers n such. again thanks for all the help, it's literally saved me hundreds of dollars

called the yard and they said the online parts search isn't accuarate at all. don't have the tank or the crossmembers. i'm gonna post in the wanted forum to see if I have any luck on here.
