i just wanted to add this..

unscrew the gas cap to relieve and pressure left. all the times i have forgotten to do this i've gotten fuel spraying out of the lines when i unhook them

There is a check valve in the pump that is supposed to keep the line pressure from draining back into the tank. If you can release your line pressure by unscrewing the cap something is wrong with your truck.

i know it has a check valve. not all check valves are good.

i was just throwing it out there.

i know you guys wouldn't want anyone to waste 3 seconds of their life taking a gas cap off
