gonna buy a new ranger.

Gonna go into town tomorrow and buy a 2006 ranger probably, it's white, it's a supercab, and i don't know anything else, but the price is right. (and it won't keep breaking flywheels like my bronco 2 has been doing).

anything in particular that's a trouble spot i might wanna look for on the newer rangers? i've only ever really been under the hood of a first gen.

same as any other used vehicle. suspension tight, no leaks from drive train, motor clean, color of oil/brake fluid/power steering fluid/antifreeze is good, tires decent, interior clean, body with no or minimal rust, frame with nothing more than surface rust at the most, starts within the first couple turns of the motor, shifting is smooth and precise, no vibrations/clunks/other noises when driving and turning, steering wheel centered and no noises/difficulties steering, and anything else you can think of. just my $.02.

okay, verdict is in: **** no.

the first one i drove, the 06, had a 3.slow, and in first gear with my foot against the firewall on the skinny pedal it made an unholy hissing noise and would not go past 1200rpm.

the second one was a 3.0 automagic, single cab, long bed. drove okay, but shook like an epileptic at 60mph

the last one was a 3.0 short bed single cab 5 speed, it was okay, but they wouldn't finance it.
