Whats everbody using for a tow rope?

I currently have an el cheapo tow rope with hooks on it, and after reading some of the stuff on hooks going through windows, I ain't gonna risk it. So I'm looking at a tow rope with loops on the ends... specifically this one:

Its 3/4" x 15ft by Hercules Tow Ropes out of Fargo, ND.

Opinions?

steer clear of ropes.... not as strong... get an actuall recovery strap for $20-$30 at walmart or autozone.

Straps won't do it for me, for the things I have to pull, the strap is never flat against what I'm pulling, so it ends up tearing the strap, that's the problem I ran into with this current strap.

if its just towing, you cant beat chains... just dont yank with them. $40 at lowes. for a real nice set. dragging a rope will tear it.

No, none of it is "towing" as in, pulling someone down the road... all of what I use them for is getting things unstuck... forklifts, fourwheelers, pickups... if we get a tractor stuck we go for a chain either way, but otherwise I use a strap.

If you're willing to spend a few $$$$ for good quality, try AWDirect.

That's where a lot of the tow pros get their stuff. I'm pretty sure they have something that will do the trick.

look up the ones summit racing has. they carry ropes chains and straps. thats all we use for un-stucking things. lol we bought them for our latemodel but we susually just end up pushing it since i have a puch bar on the truck now.

You got the link to the ropes? All I can find is winch lines...

I use two types of tow ropes. A recovery strap for getting somebody unstuck. And then a tow rope w/ metal hooks to attach to odd ball pieces of equipment that just need to be dragged a little. I prefer the strap since its safer to use and gives a little when yanking a little. The tow rope w/ metal hooks, I avoid yanking. Don't want to kill someone or myself if those hooks decide to go flying.

As for your tow rope of choice. It should do the job.

10-4. I don't try to yank either way, 99% of the time the tractor will pull whatever I need to pull without any effort.

2 straps 1 rope and 1 chain. the rope is in my car for when people get stuck. and the straps are in my bronco for when i get stuck.
