got my Ford Service Manuels in Yesterday

Woo Hoo!!! I have been waiting for like 10-12 days for these things. I got them used of ebay shipped for like 45 bucks.

They are the factory service manuel. No more haynes for me!

For me, that's the only way to go. Way too much bad info from Haynes and then not enough. Good buy, that's where I get all my wiring diagrams from.

yeh i never even knew these things existed until my girlfriends step dad showed me theres. he has them for every vehicle they have. he does pretty much everything except warrenty work.

manuals are old school, time to upgrade to dvds! then you can share info with the rest of the class.

Manuals still work even if they get a scratch on them, get dirty, DVD player or TV breaks, or power goes out. Sometimes technology is overrated.

DVD manuals suck balls. You either have to run back inside to check on something, or have your laptop sitting out in the shop to get dirty, oily, etc. Nothing better than having a nice printed factory manual sitting right where you're tearing something apart. I have a factory manual for every vehicle I own, even my 1967 F100. They can be found on eBay for cheap if you're patient. If you're not patient, you'll still only pay $70-80 at most. I think the biggest factor is the age of the truck. The manuals for my 67 only cost $22 for the entire 5 manual set. One the other end, I paid almost $80 for just the shop manual for my 2003 Ranger and another $20 for the EVTM. There's bound to be more manuals for older vehicle manuals floating out there than there are for newer ones.

you guys are goin about it all wrong, find what you need on the dvd manual, then print out all the info you need... thats what ive always done.

But if i do miss something the laptops usually in the garage with me anyway playing music from it. Im hoping to get a scan tool hook up for the laptop sometime. That would be cool as hell!!

by the way, do the manuals have DTCs?

I have a scanner for my laptop, it only does OBD-II though. Works good on everything I've tried it on except a 2005 Escape!

As far as shop manuals, they are the way to go. I have a set of them on both the B2 and the Super Duty. More information than a person can handle. Good choice. Use the Haynes manual to wipe your hands on.

i have the ford truck manual for 1993,1994 years. it takes a little bit to get used to, but it has all the service information and all the wiring diagrams.

That might work for me if I had a printer.... and a laptop, lol.
