Columbus Indiana.

Indiana is the only state that is solvent thanks to Mitch Daniels. Taxes are fine, real estate taxes for a primary residence are notably low. Every has a handgun. Even the Democrats here would be considered republics in New England. We get a few snow days per year, nothing big. Summer weather isn't bad. We've got hills, unlike the northern part of the state. And right now, people are hiring around here--Toyota and Cummins I believe. There's a Honda plant nearby and I saw AK Steels tubing plant had a hiring sign out front. There are lots of rich neighborhoods so if you are in the service industry you can find something to do.

I gota agree with Will, Columbus is a really nice place. Im Indiana for life I think. However if theres a place where its always 75 degrees I'd be temped so long as its cheap laidback livin.

i like orlando. It's pretty cool. East orlando is like 45 mins from the beach and like 20 mins to downtown orlando. This whole area is so cool. No vehicle inspections, ever. Cost of living is a little high, but no state income tax. Sales tax is lower than NY state. I actually grew up in Utica, and I will honestly never ever even consider coming back. The ppl are different down here too. Its a totally different lifestyle. It gets pretty hot in the summers, but I love the winters because it's chilly and no stupid snow to shovel. I think you'd like it here.

I lived in florida for 29 yrs and tennesse is def alot better. 4 seasons good fishing good snow driving but still has hot weather, if you stay outta the big cities then utilities are cheap. And when you move here from new york, bring my damn wife back with you. SHe moved up there with the kids and i want her back lol. Ill pay you for the gas and there will be some hazard pay when you tie her up and gag her, just be gentle with the kids.lOL

If you have a job in demand, Southern MO or Northern Arkansas in the Ozarks is absolutely beautiful with lots of stuff to do outside. Land and housing is dirt cheap. The only problem is the economy there is crap. If you are in healthcare or something, you are set.

Back in the 80's we were looking for property there. We found, if I remember correctly, 40 acres of land with a small house, a working zink mine and a cave with a stream flowing out if it for $40K. We found many similar properties for nearly the same price.

I still say Alaska and the job market is pretty good up here! Family is overrated! LOL!

i didnt look at all the pages but how about CO? 100degree summers and cold winters the weather is like no were else ive ever been and i love it here. 30 mins west of denver and you have boat loads of trails to go wheeling on CO has the habbit of beaing sunny one min and snowing the next

have about 125 acres here in northern Minnesota i'll sell you for a good price. peace and quiet as it's at the end of a dead end road.
yeah, the winters can get real cold, but usually only a couple of weeks of the real cold days (-10 and below) but real dry. in the summer, less than a week total of temps over 90 and humidity above 70%.

I don't know about Northern MN, but I really like Southern MN. It doesn't get too hot, the winters don't get very cold (from my understanding it only dips below 0 once in a while, I've been out in t-shirt and shorts in early march), there's plenty to do if you are into outdoor stuff or city stuff. A house can be had an hour from the twin cities for 100k or less. I don't know about vehicle inspection laws, but I'm sure somebody who lives there could fill you in. I like Southern MN and am strongly considering moving there after my enlistment.
