I recently purchased a 99 ranger, hence the name,:icon_twisted: anyways I noticed I have an ever so slight leak coming from the front of the rear diff. I am guessing I need to replace the rear pinion seal. And also I am looking to rid myself of the infamous driveshaft thud. And while I have the axle off, I figured I would just replace the u-joints while I was at it.

I was wondering what brand or model of u-joints (Spicer 1330?) would be the best. And is there any special tool for removing the pinion seal?

you'll need a gear puller to remove the pinion flange. and a seal puller to get the seal out.
