My Girlfriend Likes To Tease Me.... Pics Added

So who wants to let me borrow 4g indefinitely? Apparently my girlfriends has a friend whose family is trying to sell a 1990 Maroon Ranger with 26k original miles on it. I know I know it sounds to good to be true but I guess it was owned by her grandpa and is in pristine condition. It's 2wd with the 2.9l and they are asking $4,900 but since she knows them I might be able to get it for cheaper but being unemployed right now kinda crushes that dream. I guess it holds a lot of sentimental value and they want to sell it to someone who will take care of it. If I could get $1,000 for my beat up '97 I think I could convince my grandma to let me borrow the money. But I'm getting ahead of myself, I need a job before I want to borrow money from her. But anyways tomorrow I might be going to go look at it, I don't really know why other than I think I might just want to make myself cry if its as nice as she says it is. I'll be sure to take some pics so you all can see what I'm missing out on :bawling:

We would probably like pictures of the girlfriend ;)

That price seems kinda steep, even w that low of miles. Its still a 2.9. That's just my opinion. If u think its worth it, go for it.

no way is that truck worth that. those people are wiggity wack.

like he said though, it probably has some kind of sentimental value to them.

Then they shouldn't sell it. Nowhere in the blue book does it say "add $2000 if you like the vehicle."

he's right, i just spent 2 hours looking through the entire website.....sentimental value in no way translates to monetary value

oh and btw, tell ur gf not to tease you like that. you need to tell her that some pretty girl shit is being given away for free somewhere or something like that.

Sorry, Bro but $1,200 would be the top dollar for that 90. I just saw a really nice 1990 BroncoII with 49,00 one owner miles. It is a 4x4 with 32's on it and clean as a whistle. My buddy's son just bought it last week. He is going into the Marines and is taking it with him. I drove it around for them and I could not believe it!! What a mint truck!!! Handles great and the ride was so much better then my lifted 2wd 99 Ranger!!! Everything works. Ice cold A/C engages into 4wheel drive without a flaw!!!! He paid the guy $1,800 for it and the guy at the last minute gave him a a brand new in the box XRC 8,000 lb winch and even had the Bronco serviced for him. Fresh oil change and radiator flush. The owner is a former marine. I would have bought that in a heart beat just looking at it. When he comes back out here I will get some photos. I just forgot to take any since they wanted me to really go over it with a fine tooth comb!!!

Yeah, Military guys almost always take good care of their vehicles and usually have REALLY low miles from being gone. And they always have the most expensive and top of the line stuff installed on their vehicles. I got my 99 for 5,000 from a military guy with only one problem but he wouldn't have fixed it anyways (the 4x4 hubs)

Sorry, Bro but $1,200 would be the top dollar for that 90.

I wouldn't say that low, it seems in the chicagoland area rangers go for a lot higher than everywhere else, it seems around here that 1,200 would get me a rust bucket with 100,000 plus, I agree with you that 4,900 is way to high, but I think that's a price to scare off people who want to buy it to run it into the ground, and I think I could get it for a helluva a lot cheaper. But hey at the price they have it now maybe it won't sell until I have a job to pay for it:icon_thumby:

For a gen 2 ranger, my limit is $1,500. I paid $1,400 for my ex, and $1,200 for my ranger. Both needed some work, but not $3k worth of it.

So it's pretty clean, however, there is an oil leak coming from the valve cover, pretty sure the dif is leaking, and I'm 90% sure the a/c compressor is on the way out. All things considered, these things are not a big deal. Valve covers are easy enough, I have a disc brake 8.8 that I would through under it. The ac runs off of a different pulley than the rest and I've never used ac so I won't miss it. But these are all cause for the price to be lowered. But since I have no money I'll cross that bridge when/if I get there, it's nice to dream though....

My neighbor had a 97 2wd Ranger XLT, 4-banger, he traded it in last year on an F-150. The Ranger had so few miles on it that it still had the original tires. His job is about 8 blocks from his house.

Ewww, A4LD.

That just dropped the value another $500.

It is a nice looking truck though.
