My 302 has taken a backseat since getting laid off and my jeep costing me a bit of money to get it back to running. But I finally got my powdercoating system set-up and was looking for things to do. Now originally I wasn't going to do anything blue on the engine till I came across this blue. I did only do the 1 cover for now just to see how it looked, and have to redue it as i accidently got stripper on it while trying to clean the other cover DOH :annoyed:

For being the first thing that I have powdercoated it turned out really good.

lookin good! how much of a PITA is the whole DIY powdercoating system?

looks nice!

Thanks

Well, when using a 5-700 dollar system its actually really easy. I wasn't able to sandblast all of the cover yet as the big blaster still isn't complete and the covers are almost as long as the small blaster. I did use stripper on the other to help get the thick coatings of everything off to help the sandblasting and coating process.

I was originally going to paint the covers and intake but now I will be powdercoating them as it saves me on clear and cleaning my guns out. I may also ceramic or even high temp my headers as the powder is more durable and costs less than high temp paint

Stay tuned though because powdercoating is as addicting as crack so I will be doing anything and everything just about on this engine and even the 8.8 lol

I like that alot. that with jump out and stabb you in the eye when you open the hood
