The lucas gas treatment isn't ethonal based... it is visibly thicker and doubles as an upper cylinder lubricant. i've used it in my dakota, bronco II and my jeep all three ran smoother and in the bronco i noticed power gain within a few miles (which power gains at any length are amazing) haven't paid much attention to fuel mileage increases cause i can't really afford to fill up twice in a row. my dad swears to seafoam after his explorer ran like a turd and ran perfect after adding one can to a tank.

I now run royal purple in the rear axle and in the motor and just doing that has added smoothness, MPG and performance, even lower RPMs. I need to run additives and see what happens. My Expedition is on a boat right now on its way to NJ to be picked here in a few weeks and I will have to try that since I have 7 hour drive to Fort Drum right off of the boat! My Ranger is being driven by my sister in law and she don't pay too much attention to the truck until a light comes on, then checks things, typical woman. Drive it till it breaks instead of doing preventive measures. The 6 P's- Prior Planning Prevents Piss Poor Performance!!!!

I use Techron, Sea Foam, a "Catalytic Converter Cleaner" from "Kool-It". All have made a noticeable improvement.

I also did the Gumout Walmart Fuel Injection Cleaner Service. It did a lot. More than i would have ever thought possible. Apparently the thing must have been gummed up in a serious way. In the first tank the truck was like a rocket. A 3.0 liter rocket so it is relative but it was the best $20 I ever spent on the truck. It runs better at 146k than at 66k when i got it.

Like with the Cat Converter Cleaner, if you don't have that problem, it will fix nothing.

Has anyone else tried the Wally World special? Just curious.

I'm probably putting some Techron all around fuel cleaner in my truck around my next oil change, I'll see if I can time filling up my tank of gas at the same time as my oil change ... I love cars/trucks after a fresh oil change, hopefully the Techron will make me love it even more.

I'll record any MPG increases for you, it's not like I have a controlled environment, but hey, maybe it'll make a difference.

The best fuel treatment I've found is E85. When I bought my truck last year, it ran fine, I was hoping there was more power hiding in the little 3.0. I ran a couple bottles of Lucas through the tank and a couple cans of seafoam as well. Each helped a little on their own. The biggest change came after running a couple tanks of E85 through the truck, it ran like a completely different animal after that. Now I don't use any treatment, just E85.

I use the Lucas Gas Treatment. The big bottle is only 10$. And it lasts about 5 or 6 tanks. I was getting 220 per tank (I have heavyy 33's). And now I get 280-290 miles per tank. Driven the same. It really helped. My Dad uses it in his Duramax and get 2 miles per gallon. And all of his work trucks now use it, and consistently 2-3 mpg more. It actually works.

Yeah, I actually stopped using lucas at every oil change because I got lazy, noticed a drop in efficiency.

Hmm! I'm wondering why one of the gasoline companies doesn't incorporate whatever it is in these wonder additives? If the shit really works, whichever gasoline company puts it in their gasoline would outsell all the others!
Oh I get it! If one does it then all the rest will add it too...then there won't be any gain..so why add it in the first place?
"Upper cylinder lubricant"... Where in the hell is it? And why would it need special lube?
Someone needs to tell Ford, GM, and maybe even MOPAR. Then perhaps the engineers will provide a method of lubricating that place.

Gas companies DO add things to their gas. Techron is a chevron additive that happens to be sold by the bottle.
