Going to look at an IDI

I'am going to look at a 93' 7.3L 4X4 IDI and I want to know what the problem points are in the truck and the engine? Anything else I should check while I'am there?

just the common ford rust.

look for oil leaks when it has been run for a while. make sure it isnt running when you get there. on some of them the switch for the glow plugs doesnt always work, not very common but ive heard of it happening.

they are good engines and good trucks. you should be getting a good deal.

nope. do not over boost an IDI. 15 - 18 PSI max...... boost raise combustion temp and combustion temp cracks the pre cups.

Do a google search for ATT turbo........ we have been waiting for somebody to try it on a IDI Ford....... flows twice the CFM at the same boost levels and is a non-waste gated turbo... has so little lag that it isn't noticeable and runs about $750......

Okay. I must be thinking about the later 7.3 DI Powerstrokes.

Its a 93' F350 4X4 Crewcab IDI with 37" tires and 135k miles on it for $6800
