any photos of taking down headliner

ive seen and read alot of posts about taking down headliner but i havent seen any pictures of it bieng done anybody have any or know where i can find them?

Just unscrew the visors and clips, then take of the trim on the pillars, then unscrew the pass side "oh sh*t" handle, pop the cover off the dome light and remove the three screws, pull the the little plastic retainers off of the rear corner trim and remove the upper seat belt bolt. Now its time to pull out the headliner. its pretty simple, just remove anything screwed on or over the headliner.

yeah its just the side plastic pieces in the ext cab look like a pain to pull off i didnt want to screw it up

This will make it a WHOLE lot easier. I bought one halfway through pulling out my headliner... I regretted not getting it earlier.

No... it's rather easy actually. I just got pissed cuz I broke about 6 of my upholstry plugs...

Although anyone who's been in my truck knows it wouldn't make a difference if I never put the plastic panels back in... in fact it would match a lil better.

I'm trying to think of any lil nuisances that I encountered... but I can't think of any. Besides when I was retarded and broke my dome lame off instead of removing it correctly. My bad though.

I re-did mine last summer, easy to take down and just bought some black vinyl from Fabricland and some 3M Spray Super 77 I thinks.. Worked great and now looks brnad new. Just be careful when your applying the new material that you dont get waves or kinks and dont pull the material super tight so that it doesnt stick to the grooves!

crackle, just be careful, vinyl doesnt like to stick to headliner board well, and the weight of the material will make it sag. everyone ive done, and seen done sags after some time.

Oh yeah, forgot that part. If you pull it too tight, it will fall down, but only at the bends in the headliner...

i was going to do silk still thinking about it thought this is one of the things i would screw up and it would piss me off everytime i got in the car

I dont think its very expensive to have done if you are worried about screwing it up or what not. I had mine recovered for $70 maybe? I dont know for sure the price though since the place that installed my back window messed it up and I made them pay to have it recovered.

Ya very tru about the vinyl.. just be careful and take your time, let the glue set. Mine came out pretty good, other than near the ford oval i put up there due to putting a hand on the vinyl which had some remnants of glue stuck to myself.. will prolly do it again b/c it was so dirt cheap to do.
