ford 8.8 interchangability

are all the ford 8.8 carriers and parts interchangeable regardless of the year they come out of as long as the axle spline count is the same? ive got a buddy that will give me a posi unit out of a mustang thats 28 spline like my ranger

Yeup, the only difference is 28 spline and 31 spline, the rest is it the same.
