I am DONE with this place. Their parts are absolute crap. I bought two sets of radius arm bushings for my F150 a couple months ago (the last two sets they had in stock.) Did the driver's side first, bushing literally exploded when I was torquing the nut. Got to about 40 ft/lbs and pieces went everywhere. I was pretty pissed, so I took it back and bought another one from NAPA. Dummy me went and put the other O'Reilly brand one on the passenger side thinking it would be OK....NOPE! Stupid thing is cracked already, and I don't even have 500 miles on it yet.

I am SO pissed that I have to pull my front end apart again just because of a shitty brittle bushing. I had trouble getting the right ball joints from them before, and I can't even remember how many other parts have been DOA right out of the box.

I am really just upset because exploding radius arm bushings are incredibly unsafe, and because now I have to get another $45 alignment.

Very dissatisfied. :annoyed:

They just opened an O'Reilly's by me a few weeks ago. So far I'm not impressed, seems like they have a lot of stuff that they "can be here tuesday".... I might as well just order from Summit.

I only go there if it's later at night and nobody else is open and I absolutely NEED a bearing or something.

That would be because O'reilly's parts are made of Pink Hearts, Orange Stars, Yellow Moons, Green Clovers, Blue Diamonds, and Purple Horse Shoes!
They're Magically Delicious! :icon_rofl:

Sucks you have to buy new bushings again.

The O'Reilly's parts store by me does NOT have a good reputation either.

i just went to oreillys today looking for a greasable u-joint for my truck. they only u-joint they had in stock was sealed (no good if im gonna weld it in) and it was only $9. good price for the part, but not what i need. the price they listed for the greasable u-joint was over $20 but they didnt have any in stock. went to autozone and got the part i wanted for about $12

That's strange that you guys have those problems with O'Reilly's. Here it's one of the best stores and Autozone is where you go when you have no other choice.

checker is the o'rilys by me.... they suck. i had to get a set of calipers, the store nearist me said they had two, so i got my cores down there, turns out they dont have any, but theycan get em in by monday, so then they tell me a store 10 miles away has them, go there, they have one of the two. they said they can order it for an extra charge, so i go to another like 15 miles away and get the other, toook all morning to get two not so fabulious rebuilt d35 calipers. checker sucks, napa is where i go after that experence

schmucks is the o'rilys up here. The one closest to me has really bad costumer service and never has anything in stock. I try to avoid any schmucks whenever possible.

The NAPAs here SUCK. There used to be one in town, but I guess selling wiper blades to dumb yuppies wasn't enough to keep them open. The manager knew I worked at shop so he was generally pretty good to me, but that doesn't mean he knew what the hell he was talking about.

Back then 20 miles away there was a Westbay store (local chain that sells Parts Plus stuff), and they were awesome. You could tell the people who worked there actually had turned a wrench and sometimes would help you diagnose your issue if you weren't sure. Then management had the great idea to buy a few of the local NAPA stores, one being a couple blocks down the street. The plan was to sell both NAPA an Parts Plus stuff, but NAPA would not have that so away went Parts Plus. Some of the employees are still there, but overall we have the same shitty NAPA stores. At least they're open til 7 now, not 6, and closed Sundays.

heh... I have always had good luck w/ O'reillys. for the most part, cheaper parts but in many cases better than autozone.

Back in IL , the Mattoon autozone was kind of sucky in their service and/or knowledge, it depended on who was working.

Here in Fishers, both Autozones that I have went to have been pretty decent. The nearest O'reilly's is kind of far a way, but it has been decent too.

The only reason I have stuck with O'Really-it-broke's so long is because the manager is the shit, and the assistant manager is equally cool, female, and HOT (but married.) They always hook me up and help me find what I need. Back when they were Checker their parts were great but it seems like they've really gone downhill.

I think I am gonna start hitting up CarQuest again.

I have only shopped at O'Reiley's once. I was 40 miles south of OKC and needed plug wires for the 460 in the motor home, they had em, decent price, 3 years on them no problems.

I used to work at schucks on CedarHills BLVD in Beaverton Oregon (right across from the beaverton Mall) and we were better than the Napa or the GI Joes.

Here were we live now I have an Auto Zone. The Assistant manager was in the motor pool in the Army and is quite knowledgeable on GM diesels. I never get the wrong part because he looks in the box before he hands it to me. I have never had a problem with Autozone/ Duralast parts..... I have had problems with their tools (such as jacks and jack stands) so I tend to get those at Advanced but I do like Duralast tools because they are well built and inexpensive and if I brake one I can exchange it no questions asked.

There are some parts I get at advanced because the duralast part is not avail. at autozone (I will never put a value craft part on any car ..... not even on a car of a person I hate like my ex-wife).

O' Reilly seems okay in my area. Thou I stop going there for parts do to the lack of selection of other products. Autozone is always to busy and the parts they sold me lost time were generic, not OE speific. Advance Auto is where I go now for my parts. And they have been pretty good about it. Plus 10% off for military DoD.

the oreillys in worthington is great. thats where i go whenever i need parts. i have a cash only business account set up through there and most of the guys that work there know me and the business. they already have it pulled up when me or my buddy go in there. they also know their stuff. it is also nice that they are open late. when you live 40 miles away, its nice to know you can get there before they close.

the carquest there is also pretty good but they never seem to be open when i go by. the arnolds are good for machine work but not much more than that. i will never go to NAPA or advance.

shouldn't they be resposible for the new alignment? It was there defective part that caused the issue in the first place. They caused a major safety issue that could have ended badly if you were not paying attention.
