does anybody know if the clutches and shims are interchangeable between a 28 spline 8.8 and a 7.5? my buddy rebuilt his mustangs 8.8 l/s unit and hes got a few left over parts i was wondering if i can use them in my 7.5 when i rebuild it?
 
Just put your old parts next to his...but I think they are different...I just rebuilt a 7.5 track-lock this summer

im not gonna rip my axle apart unless i know i can use his parts. i was gonna swap out some of my shims for a couple clutches and see if i can make it grab a little better for free.

Nope. 7.5 are smaller than the 8.8 stuff.
 
The 7.5" traction lok parts are much smaller in diameter than the 8.8" parts
