Not To Bother Everyone With The Same Old Questions, I Will And Am Continuing To Look Through All The Forums For Answers To My Questions. Any Direct Help And Any Advice From Experience Having People That You Could Can Give Me Will Be Greatly Appreciated.

I Am Swappin Out My Blown 4 Cylinder For A Efi 5.0/automatic Trans Out Of A Crown Vic. (the Car Is Complete And Running, So I Have All The Stock Parts)

The Truck Will Be A Pre-runner Style Setup In The Long End.

Questions?

Not Sure Which Tranny It Has, And Will It Work? Anyone Who Might Know

I Am Ordering The Jegs Swap Kit, I Have Seen Some Articles Talkin Down On The Kit As Far As The Headers Mostly.. Any One Have Experience.

I Know I Will Have More Questions But I Gotta Run.

Thank You
Chris

Well, if the 5.0 is from a crown vic, you better look at upgrading the internals of it because the cam is a very mild one rated at 150HP. I, stupidly, ordered a rebuild kit and told them I wanted a mild cam, turns out it's the same as one from a crown vic which is pretty gutless. The ranger won't do a decent burnout, but that'll change soon.

Not sure on the rest of the questions, but someone here knows.

That Part I Can Do... My Dad Owns A Salvage Yadr And Mechanic Shop So Shop Access And Mechanical How To Is No Problem. Thank You For The Heads Up.

Must be nice having access to a junkyard, you get parts for free?

4wd and it's an AOD, you'll need an adapter to make this work. Not sure if you have an AOD-E? If it's only 2wd, you'll just have to locate what you can from your junk yard and possibly have a driveline shop make the driveshaft for you. I just had them make me a brand new one, it wasn't as bad as I expected. Google the differences between the AOD and AOD-E if you're not sure.

Don't have experience with the Jegs kit, but a lot of people here just source the parts to save money. I used a 2-row radiator from an Explorer because I had one, AA plates that came w/ a set of headers I bought off a forum member, '80 302 motor mounts from a Bronco, dual oil filter relocation kit I bought from a member off of here.

Search for motor mounts, there are a lot of ways going about doing this. Radiator is basically what you can get to fit, core support will probably need modified.

Big thing is headers, the Hedman 89500s do not fit well. I am using these headers, but it is a close fit. I would not recommend using these offroad. Had to modify to clear the passenger side suspension. So far so good. Definitely do your research on headers before committing to anything. Not too sure about using the stock manifolds.

Yea, you don't want the 89500's in an off road truck. 88400's fit better. The Vic mounts will probably work too, if they don't put the engine too low. The oilpan is the one you want for a Ranger swap.

I should have been more clear - I was saying that if he wanted to use an AOD and 4wd on his truck, he would need an adapter to do so. :) It says 2wd in his profile, but who knows what his intentions are, he didn't state otherwise.

Psychopete And Baddad Thanks For Your Input, I Think Ill Just Take The Route Of Pieceing Together A Kit And Pickin Up The Remote Oil Filter.

If I Use The Stock 5.0 Mounts Will I Still Need The Adapter Plates/brackets For The Engine Mounts.
Like The The Ones I Se In The Jegs Kit And Ive Seen Templates On Here Of How To Make Them Myself?

Thanks Again Guys For Your Help Sorry If My Questions Are The Best In Detail.

You need no adaptor plates. A Mustang syle mount will bolt right to your crossmember. You may need to drill a new hole or two.

I used the motor mounts James Duff sell, the Advance Adapter shaft and housing for the AOD and had to buy the radiator and oil relo kit. I used Explorer manifolds from a 98 5.0 and stuffed it in. I used an 88 Crown Vic engine and had to hook up 12 to 15 wires to the Ranger harness to get it to breath.
