Well it has been a busy couple of months. I am almost finished with the SAS on my 99 ranger. It started out because of cheap wheel bearings, one came apart and f-ed up pretty much everything on the drivers side. It was going to cost around 2 grand to fix the IFS so I said screw it and started on the SAS. I used a D30 out of a 96 model XJ. I then started striping my 90 model Ranger, which had a 6 inch skyjacker lift on it. I used the upper coil mounts, coil springs, shocks, steering head and the rear blocks from it. then I started striping the 99, it was a long very educating experiance. Heres some pics, be easy on the critisizm. Some things like the Y-liinks will be re-done when people start drinking more milk, I work on my inlaws dairy farm and times are tough right now.

Don't worry about the 90 model, when I get some more time I have some
D60's amd a 351C 4V going in it.

Looks like you did a hellava good job to me.

nice man i hope mine turns out like that when i start and finish it

Looks good... I am looking forward to/dreading the day that I start mine... but 4th gens just look sooo good sas'd

i guess i dont understand but why did you need a track bar with the y links?

Y link is still a radius arm setup, and only 2 links square to the frame means you need a third to keep it parallel and keep the axle from sliding around under the truck

^^^ thats link what i thought but wasnt sure

What all is left? Engine crossmembers? Steering tweaks? How'd you mate the 98+ steering shaft to the new box?

I really like the height....Not too big...not too small. Just right. I plan on building mine to clear 37's just fine on full widths, but running 35's. Trying to keep CG down a little bit. My buddy's got an 07 Ranger on 40's....TOWERING 40's. I have a feeling I'll get a text of it on it's roof this winter. :(

Looks pretty decent!

One thing I can point out is that it looks like you don't need the dropped pitman arm on there anymore. You want your draglink to be at the same angle as your track bar so it doesn't bump steer.

 oh now I better finish mine before yours...

(I'm also curious about the steering shaft)

Nice job! where did you get your front bumper?

Chris at White Rhino Fabrications made it for me earlier this year. I am tossing around the idea of selling it.

Steering shaft- I took the 99 model shaft cut it just below the cv joint, the took a 90 model shaft and cut the "rubber bushing" end (the end that goes to the box) and had a good friend at a machine shop weld them together. I will get some pictures later on today.

Looks good. Was it a budget build of sorts? Thinkin of doing mine but money in an issue at the moment, plus its my dd

I probably have $1500 in it
