Best penetrating oil.....

If the penetrating oil doesn't work........ and the torches are too inconvenient to get into a field. we have found the best method ever to remove stuborn bolts.

A 3/4in drive set....... and me hanging off the end of a 5ft cheater bar.
Bolts are cheap, time is not.
However over the weekend, putting a new tarp on our spare semi, I had to resort to the old hammer and chisel to break some carriage bolts that had stripped (torches and wooden rails don't mix well)

has anyone tried this yet? im going to mix some up friday morning and put them on my rear bumper bolts so saturday when i get my new bumpers it should come right off

I'll have to vote with the Kroil, Kano Labs Nashville TN
they produce Kano Kriol and Areo Kroil and others.
Might be able to find them on the web!

I've had mixed results so far with various products...

I've found that WD-40 seems to work much better than anything else for say, getting a sticky latch working again (hood latch, door catch, etc). It's also good for stripping rust, cleaning up tar, and various other things. It's also usually quite deadly to flying insects.

I've tried the much-touted PB Blaster... and didn't really have much luck with it other than killing insects at a longer range than WD-40.

I've used both Liquid Wrench penetrating oil and penetrating/lubricating spray, with mixed results. Sometimes it seems to help, but usually partway through you have to spray it again and leave it sit for a couple seconds to soak in again.

Bigger tools, cheater pipe, torch, hammer and chisel and drill are usually not far away if things get nasty. My patience level isn't what it used to be, lol.

I'll have to mix up some of that home brew to try sometime, might come in handy before I manage to get a proper air compressor...

i have always use pb blaster but i found this new stuff called free all and the greatest stuff i have use to break thing loose!!!!

I just use whatever, sometimes nothing at all. Bigger tools and wire brushing bolt threads seems to work well. For assembly, I am a big fan of coating bolts in grease.

Very well said. Siggy material. :icon_cheers:

You've got to make sure you're using metric Liquid Wrench on metric bolts. That might be your problem. :icon_twisted:
