Lowering a 4wd?

Now don't get all anal or whatever saying it's a stupid idea and i should lift it...just shut up...But well the belltech 2 in coils fit a 4wd...If so can i get the truck to realign camber wise. I had an idea of a Rally truck for like dirt roads and such...something different. and no i won't just go and get a 2wd!

u wont lift and u wont get a 2WD.

i'm having a delema with myself. I would like to play in some mud, but i would also like to be able do 85+ on the freeway. So why not do 85 on the way to some old dirt roads then do some rally racing in the mountains. Plus i've put to much money into this truck to go and buy a 2wd.

so as it sits stock u can do 85+??
i just lifted my 2WD and i can do 85+, nothing changed on it.
i had the same dilema, i liked the street look, but also liked the off road look, why not leave it stock?
maybe a mild lift so u can keep good speeding stability

i had thought about lowering a ttb truck as well... in the end i decided to sell it and buy a car, but that was for gas mileage as well. i dont think theres a whole lot of room to the bump stops even stock, so lower might be getting pretty close...

the street look is what i'm really going for...Lifting was my first choice obviously but everyone is lifting and i want to be different...Just answer my first question...Will the belltech springs work and could it be realigned.

yes its the only want to lower the 4x4 trucks I have seen a couple guys do it before with rangers and explorers. I sell them here as well http://www.illusivefabrications.com...file=product_info&cPath=21_38&products_id=216

You will also want to get the +- 4 degree camber caster eccentrics from napa part number 264-3950

Or you could just lift a geo metro. If you want a 2wd get one. If you want a 4X4 get one. Other than that you do't need ask stupid questions.

x2... theres not much up travel b4 they hit the bumpstops

you could take out the stock block in the rear to level it out.

you can lower a torsion bar truck almost 3 inchs and still get the alignment in to spec using factory control arms. Bump stops can allway be replaced with small pancake stops or trimmed down. Thats nothing.

It all boils down to why. Lowering a 4x4? Buy a 2wd and drop it to the ground. Lowering 4x4 is just like putting high heals on a drag queen, may look good but, still not something I want to drive.

.yea he should be able to align his truck but he has a TTB truck though & i think if you took much more out of the bumpstops the diff would hit the crossmember if you hit a speed bump too hard i may be wrong though.

if it were me id take out the stock rear block & grab a set of junkyard 4cyl coils to see how it looked that way you wouldnt be outta much $

it would actually make good sense for some who lives in snow ,you want a street truck but you need 4wd traction every once i awhile there fore a lowered 4x4 is perfect.
