Well thanks to CARS or Cash For Clunkers I think we are going to see a huge rise in the number of cheap 2008 Rangers. Since this was a top selling truck due to CARS, I think people are going to realize they can't aford to make payments and sell them cheap, or they will be repo'd after a year or so and will be sold cheap. So i am starting to save my cash on the hopes of picking up a good new truck

Thats a great IDEA:icon_idea: . I will consider the same if my ranger keeps giving me sooo many problems

Naw. Why would I want any Ranger with a small enough engine to qualify?

Saving money should be a top priority for anyone, from the very first day they work their very first job.
My philosophy? Unless you're a multi-millionaire, no amount of money is ever enough money.

+1 ^^^ so true so very true

Save for a goal. Instead of borrowing money and they make interest, you can save and make yourself interest.

Don't know bout you guys but having a wife and kids and today's economy there's no such thing as saving money! But I sure wish I could... :)

Perhaps instead of saving money with no reason, perhaps take this money and make some good solid investments in durable goods that do not depreciate. Such as First aid kits, soap, water storage, stock your food pantry, lumber/nails, etc. Secure the important things, ability to get Clean water, enough food, a way to mend clothing.... If the banks were to fail, you would already have the essentials, water/food/clothing and you would not be in a urgent situation should something bad were to happen.

Saving money for a "rainy day" might not be the best thing to do, you would have to rely on the financial system, and that is very shaky right now.

I would invest in durable goods, should another bank failure happen, you may not have immediate access to your funds.

Im saving up money in 2 seperate accounts, the first i start about 5 months back, every friday 25$ is taken from my bank account and put into a tax free savings account, 25$ isnt much, but i am already over 500$ saved up, with out even knowing it,

Second im taking out money i save from paycheck to paycheck and trying to save up for a boat, thats my next purchase, if things go well, that is, also planing on investing some more money as far as saving up goes,

I hear you there. I myself am married with a 4 yr old and i'm not sure costs more. The wife or the kid. Seems like my 02 4.0 ranger is the cheaper of the 3 ( with fuel and $247 truck payment a month ). :icon_rofl:

My truck is paid off, and I really dont need another one. Oilpatch hit the nail on the head with saving for survival goods. I have a first aid kit in my truck, toolbox at work, and my appartment. I also just put together a pretty bad ass survival kit for my truck.

My girlfriend plans on going to school to be a doctor.... She'll be making ME money!:thefinger:

:icon_twisted:

Don't bet on it... My wife is a teacher... and there is no work. While looking for work, the student loans don't stop either.

I deal with credit unions, not banks.

I do too... Just signed up for Kemba.
