my 94 ranger 4x4 super cab 4.0 is having some electrical issues, i think it is from the solenoid on the fender, so i am replacing that today, but my question is where does the battery gauge read from? it has been pinned way below low or zero whatever, and that is around the time i am having issues, but the battery is fine, i swapped it into another car with no issues and it started right up

The OEM gauge is a voltmeter, NOT an ammeter.

thats what i meant, im not too too into electrical terms lol. do you know where the voltmeter pics up the reading?

Lt grn/red wire off of the alternator. Being that the voltmeter measures voltage, you can tap it in most anywhere. Make sure the circuit you tap into is switched as it will run the battery down otherwise.:)shady
