Just found these on ebay, 25HP-DYNO-BOOST-PERFORMANCE CHIP.

AND-

30HP-RACE CUBE POWER MODULE

Go to ebaymotors and punch in Ford Ranger, the ads are between pages 15 and 19.

Anybody know anything about these?

I've been looking for a chip for my 88 2.9 EFI V-6 to help a little with power off road with my 33" Claws, hafta use low range in the mountains allot but no big deal.

a chip (a REAL chip, or tuner) is going to do alot more than a gear swap, unless he has oversized tires. Trust me, I did a gear swap and was very dissapointed in the results, or lack there of. Only difference was .2 off my 60ft times. This was with a 2wd 4.0l.

If you're still looking for a chip, I know Jet makes one, and there's another company, but I can't remember the name. But yeah, Id say a gear swap. And upgrade to a D35 if you haven't already.

My drive line is stock but for a 1354 elect T-case and a custome made 285 freekin dollar drive shaft to make it work.
Still has the D-28 up front on after market springs, auto trans (rebuilt) Rough Country shocks all around, Revolver shackles, converted to manual hubs, Richmond Lock-Right locker in the rear, 33x12.50-15 M&T Baja Claws and a bunch of body mods including 8000 lb winch, custom bumpers, big roll bar with lights, Gerry cans (fuel & water) 90 cu.ft. scuba tank with custom 15' hose, pic & shovel, tools and servival kit in cab.
Only engine mod is a moded air box with a K&N filter and snorkle, all new engine electrics, Holly Hi Po external fuel pump and the elimination of the internal pump.
Love to go wheelin in the mountains.
