so my 93 exploder had a stock tape deck, so i go to install my cd deck. i have power, and all my wires are in the same spot as my 92 expoder sport. BUT i have no sound? wtf? anyone have a wireing diagram?

so i just went out and tested the front and rear speaker wires on my cd deck to see if there working, they do. i hooked them up to a speaker directly. it works. try and go through the trucks radio harness and no sound

Maybe this will help you. You might have the factory Premium sound option which can complicate things a little bit.

Thats just F-ed up...?:icon_confused:

All cd players should have
Purple - RR Power
Prpl/Bl - RR Ground
Green - LR Power
Grn/Bl - LR Ground
White - LF Power
Wht/Bl - LF ground
Grey - RF Power
Gry/Bl - RF ground

Red - Switched 12v
Yellow - Constant 12V
Black - Chassis Ground
Blue - Power antenna/Romote
Orange - Illumination
Orng/Wht - Dimmer

Or atleast all of my players are set up like that.

Edit: Does the spolder have a factory premium system which could have an amp? (cause if it did then the new player might not feed the amp?)

no mine didnt have the amp. it had a tape deck

heres what my tape deck looked like

Your radio is the premium sound radio, it DOES have an AMP.

And an aftermarket head unit won't turn the amp on
and would grotesquely over-drive it if it was turned on.

there is an aftermarket harness that replaces the amp
it's a little short cable with two female connectors
that essentially jumpers past the amp.

The amp is mounted below the passenger side quarter window above the wheel well

you have to remove the interior panel to get at it.
