I have a 2007 Ford Ranger XLT, regular cab, 2WD, 2.4L I4 w/ automatic. It needs new tires.

I want to know what is absolutely positively beyond the shadow of a doubt the QUIETEST tire on the face of the planet?

Money is no object, and I don't care about ANYTHING else other than it being quiet. I don't care about rain or snow or off-road ability. I don't care if it's the ugliest, worst-handling, shortest-lasting tire ever made - I just care that it's the quietest thing money can buy.

Not looking for compromises, runners up, or personal opinions -- just what is, hands down, the quietest tire I can get?

And none of this crap where it's quiet for the first season but turns into a buzzsaw as it ages and the treads wear down. I am willing to spend up to $50,000 for these four tires - I mean it when I say money is no object - I want the QUIETEST.

So wait. You bought a Ranger expecting it to be quiet? HAHA! I kid, I kid, you'd be surprised how quiet my truck is inside.... even with mud terrains. I think bridgestone or one of the big tire companies has a newer tire out thats supposed to be VERY quiet even at highway speed. Or whats even cheaper than tires, why dont you line the inside of the cab with Dyanamat? Takes a little more effort but would only have to be done once.

*** Keep it civil. Everybody here knows the rules. ***

1. Correct me if I'm wrong but, there is no such thing as a 2007 ford ranger 2.4
2. If you can spend 50K on a set of tires, than why are you driving a reg cab 4 banger ranger with an imaginary engine? GET A FULLY LOADED "GOD KNOWS WHAT":dunno:
3. These tires probably don't exist:thefinger:
4. You got issues

I would sound deaden the entire vehicle.
You would be much further ahead to pay and have the interior gutted and sprayed.

then fix all the rattles.
Basically everything you would do to a competition MUSIC Db truck.

There is no quietest tire.... it will all be opinion, and application.
I would suggest any, very good name brand tire on the market.
I am a firm believer in the Pirrelli tires with that 70 k mile (or whatever it is) warranty.
but they can be noisy.

with the deadening done, it will ultimately take road noise out of the equation.

Goodyear Wrangler RT/S. They're the original tires on my truck, so I don't have anything to compare them to, but they seem to be really quiet.

America's Favorite?? Xtreme Protection?? LOL :icon_rofl:
Hmmm you're right, I guess those are considered ear muffs. When I think of ear muffs I think of those pink fuzzy things old ladies wear....

Why would he need a bigger cock if he just wants more players to sign up?
LOL I was going to say pretty much the same thing....

I guess we can all take hikes, jump in lakes, put socks in it, and get bent. :D

Now, with ALL joking aside, I'm sorry to hear you have a medical condition.

BlackBII: Thanks, but I've already done Google searching.

superrocker10: I don't need your snide comments - I asked for tire opinions only. I have a medical condition which makes all noise seem louder to me than to a normal person. I wouldn't be so adamant about a quiet tire otherwise. Now unless you have something constructive to contribute, how 'bout you take a hike?

Comments like that aren't going to get you ANY help from anyone here. Go to your local tireshop and ask them their opinion, and yes this will be a matter of opinion. What about insulating the truck itself? I doubt that you will find a tire that is much quieter than stock.

They won't hurt him getting help from most of us. Calling someone "brainless" for valuing quietness over all else isn't going to get a person much support either. Especially a new member than is looking to this community for answers for some ungodly reason.
