Hmm...when you did the manual trans swap, did you hook up the neutral start switch?

Do BOTH fuel pumps run? The one in the tank is fairly hard to hear. Unplug the one on the frame rail and listen very carefully when you jumper the pumps from the diagnostic port.

Ok, it wasn't the TFI. I replaced that and it didn't do a damn thing. This is pissing me off because I need a car by next Thursday for work.

Any other ideas?

Yes all 2.9's have the Inertia switch. The inertia switch is located on passenger side below glovebox, check that if you havent already. Push button see if it starts, if not bypass it and then replace it with a new one from Ford.

Seems like the signal for the injectors to fire might be the missing link???
maybe the connector on the ECM ,inside the cab on passanger side ,just in front of the door, double check the pin on the connector as well as, the ground there too

The inertia switch was replaced with a fuse before I got the truck, and there's no power going to that fuse. I have half the motor apart because I had to get the dist. out to replace the inside module and hopefully that will do the trick. This is honestly stressing me out so much right now. I've never thought about selling the truck this seriously until now...gaaah

You will get it figured out. I had something similar happen, I think you probably replied to my thread about it. Turned out to be cap & rotor, TFI module, 3 corroded grounds, two rubbed wires, and two cut wires under the dash. It literally took me several days to find ALL of that. Yours can't be as bad as mine.

OK, so if BOTH fuel pumps are working and you know you have spark at the plugs, check two more things. First is fuel pressure at the rail, second is check your injectors with a noid light. You should have 30psi pressure key on, engine off, and the noid light should flash when the injector you have it hooked up to fires.

I'm checking the injectors tomorrow, I have a noid light set that we're borrowing from a shop by me. I need to get a fuel pressure gauge tho...

Nada on the injectors, not while it's on or cranking. I replaced the internals on the distributor and the TFI. I'm wanting to shoot the truck but whatever, I can't afford a new one and I'll just try to fix this one so I can get to work. Ground on the Comp is good too.

check to see that you have power on all the injector harnesses, If I remember right the 2.9's fire in two banks of 3. If you have key on power to all of the injectors and still a noid light flash on none, you are not recieving the ground from the ecm. The ecm pulses the ground to fire the injectors, eg. they have power all the time but momentarily grounded by the ecm to fire. If you are missing your ground check your wiring back to the ecm on these ground wires, you may have an open and therefore no ground toggle. Disconnect the battery before disconnecting the ecm in order to do ohm reading on the wires to determine if you have continuity from the injector harness to the ecm. let us know what you find

It was one of the wires going into the relay it came loose in the plug...LOL
