Hey im looking into trying to get more articulation and better off road performance out of my rear end and even a better ride on the streets. right now i have 4" lift leafs under my stock leafsprings. is it worth it to pay the money for some skyjacker 4" leaf springs? i would think it would allow more mobility for the rearend. what are the benefits of having leafs rather than blocks?

thanks,

Cody

Adding taller blocks adds leverage and causes axle wrap. I'd go with extended shackles and lift springs if you want a better ride and more flex.

is there anywhere that i can buy the extended shackles? or do they need to be made?

longer leafs will give you more articulation and a better ride.

Look up belltech 6400 shackles, they are listed as chevy lowering shackles, but because of the design of the rear shackle set up on rangers it will provide about 1.5-1.75" of lift.

ill be posting pic of my current build up.. heres the link, explorer leafs and bell tech shackles, ill have the height gain hopefully this week or early next

link, 2nd page for this setup

Do a 64" GM spring swap. More travel, lift, smooth ride, cheaper, but a little more work.

Get a set of OEM leaves from a 88-98 GM 1/2 ton. Junkyards are cheap.
Move the front hangers forward 6"
Put in the Beltech shackles
