So I'm kinda new to this message board, don't flame me....I have a 98' XLT Supercab 4x4 4.0 Liter and I'm getting new tires in a couple of weeks. I have been anxiously anticipating getting rid of the crappy 235/70R16 Goodyear Wrangler RT/S's. I have been debating on what tire size to put on it for awhile but I think I'm gonna get 255/70R16 (about an inch taller and about 3/4 of an inch wider). I know I can fit a little bigger but at this time fuel economy is a bit more important than filling up my fender wells. I have been reading all kinda reviews on tirerack.com for weeks now and I think I have boiled it down to 2: General Grabber's or Destination AT's. Which ones do you think? or any other suggestions that aren't too pricey would be great too....

Destination... That's what I have and they are amazing... Quiet, and awesome grip!!

i would go with the grabbers. i have them on my truck they wear good and have awsome traction

well that's one for the destinations and one for the grabbers....hmmmm

If I were to say BFG All Terrain KO it likely wouldn't be any help. I think I'll stay out of it. Sorry I'm no help.

If its between those two then I'd go with the Grabbers...I haven't liked anything Firestone has made for a while. Just my 2 cents

I agree with Rifleman go with the BFG's

I'm not sure if BFG A/T's are available in that size.
Tire Rack has owner's reviews of tires on their site. Both come out pretty good as I recall.
I'm getting the Firestones soon for my Sport Trac, based partly on their good reviews for snow performance, partly because it takes an oddball size and there's not much selection.

just so everyone that is suggesting the bfgs know the grabber at2s have the same tread pattern with a cheaper price

I had the Destination AT's before I got the TSL's and thought that they were decent. They are super quiet and handle ice/snow amazingly well. For what you pay, they are an excellent value.

They do tend to "roll" quite a bit around corners and the sidewalls seem to be softer and thinner than I would like. I don't have the same problem with the TSL's, although they are also a 2-ply sidewall.

I love my Grabbers!! They hook on anything and have a 60k warranty.

It is the same idea, but it is not the same tread.

I vote for the Firestones, right now they are my next tire of choice for my F-150.

MY father has 285/70R16 destinations on his grand cherokee. They are super quiet at all speeds. They are very comfortable tires.

I run BFG's and love them! The grabbers are quite similar, and i'm sure you'd like the grabbers more than the firestones if your hitting the dirt regularly.

Sumitomo All terrain,
they are only 103.00 a tire and have amazing grip and very little road noise
