hey im new here and i just bought an 88 ranger. i have looked into LMC and summit for air intake systems and found only air filters.

should i make modifications or what any advise ??? :icon_confused::icon_confused:

If you want to keep the 2.3 get the whole engine, trans, computer, and stuff from a 87-88 thunderbird turbo coupe, or swap the 2.3 out for a 302.

Your truck has a CAI, which is what I assume you want... Don't mess with it, all the aftermarket ones do is lighten your wallet...

Ford knew what they were doing when they designed your intake, I would leave it stock.

True about the design, but I don't think the engineers ever actually tried removing or installing one of those things...they're heavy and awkward...not the engineers...

haha, yeah true, but I can imagine they were more concerned with how the intake would perform, rather than how difficult they are to remove and replace, and judging by other things on these RBV's, I doubt that ever even crossed their mind. :D

the use the same filter and ducting on the 4.0L as they did on the 2.3, a system that works with an engine flowing 155hp worth of air should work just fine with an engine breathing 95hp worth of air
