i thought i read somewhere that it was the extended cab models with the smaller engines. also does anyone know if any explorers have 4.10 gears?

My 00' Explorer Sport (2 dr, 4.0L 5 spd) had 4.10's. I've seen ones IDENTICAl to it with 3.27's....

Ford's been known to do a lot of weird things, and package things oddly. Best way to find out is to read a door/diff tag.

Many 95+ explorers have 4.10s. However the ONLY RBV you will find a 4.10 TTB D35 is 90-92 Ranger 2.3 4x4s/2.9 Automatic 4x4s.

the 2002 fx4 with 31" tires and 2003 and up FX4 Level II.

thanks, oh yeah i forgot to ask if any bronco II's came with 4.10 gears.

Some '86-'88 ext. cab 2.9L automatics came stock with 4:10's. My '88 did.

That's correct. The Explorer would be the easiest source for the 4.10 8.8 (and it comes with 31 spline shafts and disk brakes). For the D35, you'll have to look at Hahns post above.

My 94 2.3L 4x4 came with 4.10's. 7.5 rear and the hybrid 28 garbage up front, both open. At least they are 4.10's though...

gears

my 2001 4x4 automatiuc 4.0 came factory with 4.10s. when i can get back to my desk at work in the morning ill find the list on hollander ( i work at Pull A Part in columbia sc) ill post it up tomorrow afternoon. but i can tell exectly what years models ect. had the 7.5 with 4.10s just let me know what we are looking for. im assuming the 8.8 off the explorer comment and ill see if i can get the complete list ps aerostar vans carried a exact match 4.10 ring gear in the 4.0 engine models

My 1995 ext cab 3.0 4x4 with a 4r44e auto trans has dana 35 ttb axles and 4.10 gears stock.. says it right on the sticker on the passenger axle.. I'm going to sell my front end pretty soon tho, I'm goin 2wd and id like to trade harnesess and ecu's also.. if anyone wants it let me know

My '02 XLT 4x4 4.0 came stock with 4.10's. Its a 5 speed to boot.

All of the Explorers I have found 4.10 8.8s in, have been sports so far..
