since I moved to Arizona everyone tells me I need to keep a window cracked when me truck is parked or a window will break because of the heat? I don't know if I buy this(However I did crack it yesterday cause it was 110 degrees). I would rather not crack my window if I don't have to because I don't wanna let some venomous critters in my Ranger I.E scorpions and black widows.:icon_surprised:

So rumor or fact?:icon_confused:

I would think it'd be perfectly fine with the window closed.

I lived there for 2 years without a problem. But don't leave any cans or bottles of soda inside or you might find yourself in a sticky situation. Also if your windsheild allready has a small crack, leaving your windows up will make that crack grow. Just my 2 cents, I learned about the soda cans the hard way, a very sticky situation, lol.

just be careful when you wash your truck...hot glass+cold water= crack:shok:

Rumor. The Ranger has vents on the bottom of the doors. Thou leaving your windows cracked will help keep the cabin temperatures in check. As for the little critters, if you have a sliding rear window, put a bug screen over it and leave the back window open. This way the cabin has a vent but the critters stay out.

you'd have to be in some pretty hot conditions with an air tight seal for anything to happen

your truck is anything but air tight, i bet even without the door vents you still might be okay. but don't got plugging those up to try :icon_twisted:

The critters get in anyways. I had a spider problem last year and little baby spiders were EVERYWHERE.

seal up your rear window then, new piece of solid glass maybe?

can you spray a mild insecticide? idk how close it can be to human contact and such you know? i bet in your bed it should be okay, contact the manufacturer to make sure there are no unwanted results with the bedliner material... or just try in a spot out of the way.

Nope don't worry crank the window up, I never had any problems. Unless you park under trees I would not worry about scorpions or black widows. 110 yesterday was nice weather wait till 117 comes then you will really be crapping your pants. I cant wait till the monsoons come I love the stormy weather.

If it was 110 and I left my windows closed, I would explode when I got in my truck.

If it were 110 around here, I would give up and say fawk it. I would have a heart attack!

Way too hot.

If I'm not mistaken, glass has pretty high tolerance to heat and cold...in Canada we fluxuate between -40 and +40 and I've never had a crack due to the heat or cold...stones, flying debris, or leaving the trim off the edges does more harm than temps...

And, yes, pop cans in closed vehicles can be rather messy...and don't leave any uneaten food under the seat if you value keeping the contents of your stomach down...
