Just Plain Stupied

thanks for the encouragement fellas!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mo pics...I got a late start on the driver's side fender installation.....(I quit installing at midnight)........left side running board & rough cut board are first step.....

15 minutes later.....board is cut to size & beveled to fit under-side of running for lots of extra support....it will be water-proofed before being attached to the running board.......

High-tech fender alignment tools.......fender is starting to fit......

It's finally in place and rear of fender is snugged onto front of running board.....I'm workin by moonlite & throw-lite now........

Maybe tomorrow I'll get the right length bolts, finish tightening the fender into place, bolt down the running board, & install rear fender.......maybe.......

ALLLLLLLLL-right.......I got up the nerve (those VA meds are rough) to put the rear fender in place on the rear of the running board & bedside, but I didn't screw it down yet....

ASSSSSSSSSSSS you & I might have noticed, I made a s-l-i-g-h-t misssssss-calkulation on centering the tires in the wheel wells (man, I hope Capt Jay don't see this!). Seeeeeems like I'm 1.250946 inches off !!!!!!!!!
(Remind me not to take the meds while I'm using the calculator)
Seeins how it's a MINOR problem, I'll just move the cab/cap rearward....or was that forward.....anyway.....I'll remove the 10 bolts that hold everything in place and s-l-i-d-e the cab/cap rearward 1.250946 inches.....redrill the 10 chassis holes...and BAMMMM.....it's done....just as soon as I remove the 6 bolts from the bed.....slide it away from the cab .75003 inches.....then BAMMMMMMMMM.....it's really done......(
I gotta say it one more time....there's less than an inch difference between the '89 Ranger & '36 "Ranger" over-all body lengths)

Anybody think the tail-end of the rear fender looks O.K. at that height......or should I raise the tail end an inch or so???????????

Personally I think it would look better up an inch. There's something so sexy about a truck with a muscle car slant

keep it level.

thanks guys...............1 + 0 = 1 ....... 1 div. by 2 = .5 .........O.K. ........ up 1/2 "

EDIT: I studied the fender again this afternoon.......and guess what?.........the inner wall of the fender is formed to fit the bed-side........if I move it up 1/2 ", the fit will be just as the factory designed it to fit in 1936!!!!!!!!!!!!

Between the both of you.........you got it!

Now I need to fab a spring-hangar access-panel to fit below the bed--in front of the rear fender...
