Best Locker for a Daily Driver w/Open 8.8?

I've been looking at several Rangers and they all have an open 8.8 w/4.10's. I'd really prefer a factory limited slip but aside from a complete axle swap or diff. carrier change what drop-in locker would you recommend for a daily driver?

powertrax makes one that you can install in about an hour with basic hand tools. put one in dad's new (well used) 2000 Expedition and it took a little over 2 hours but we goofed off allot.

I've got an Aussie locker. And honestly...if youve got a manual trans...it gets sorta violent in parking lots. I know..stupid concern. BUT...you cant just let anyone drive your truck. It's like you've gotta train them how to drive it. At slow turns in parking lots, you've gotta push the clutch in and kick it in neutral to stop the jumping/jolting. Otherwise, I dont even know it's there...except when I got around a corner to try and spin the tires...and remember...oh yeah, i've gota locker back there. It just hooks the eff up.

*an aussie is very similar to a lock rite.

Cheapest - lockright or aussie locker.
Better option - Powertrax NoSlip.

Best bet as limited slips go is the Torsen type, but that's a full carrier replacement.

I've driven Lock-Rights, No-slips and Aussies. I prefer the Aussie the most but it's not available for the 28 spline 8.8.

I've had a Lockright in the back of mine for 8 years. It doesn't herk and jerk much in parking lots if you do everthing in a smooth single motion. It's the best option if you need traction and don't want to spend a fortune.

No...not stupid at all. That's why I've got an ARB out in the garage, waiting to replace my Lockrite.

Selectable Locker FTW! I wish I could afford one. I love being locked, but my girlfriend is scared to drive the truck. lol.

OX recently come out with a selectable locker for the 8.8. They're great lockers for daily drivers being when not engaged you have a open differential. I have OX in rear and front axles on my CJ5. They're awesome but pricey, and if you haven't fooled with axles before you need to have someone that has install'em.
