33x10.50's or 33.12.50's

Actually you'll have better grip with a skinnier tire reason being your truck weights about the same with either a wide or narrow tire. So you have more weight on a smaller surface area which gives you more "bite" or PSI. Also depends on what you want to do with them: I would stay far away from a skinny tire if you do any mudding at all they will just get you stuck. But for rocks and not to deep of snow they're great.

The wider the tire there will be less traction!!!!!!!!!!!! think of the old days did you ever see a tractor or any other related vehicle with fat tires ? i have 31x10.50's mud kings and i like em. if you plan on wheeling go skinny and think about your horsepower drops also the wider and bigger no good having a good tire if your truck cant turn it :headbang:

15 x 8 wheel for either the 10.50 or the 12.50, more wheel protection.
33" tires indicate a lift of some kind, check out what backspacing you need on your wheel and what is the recommended tire size is for the lift ?

Maybe use a metric LT Tire if you haven't already purchased the tires/wheels, 285x75R16 would be 33.1x11.5x16; this is the tire size I will be going with.

If wider tires have less traction, then why do drag cars have super wide slicks?

Thanks, if you're going 15x10's then i would say 10.50s are pretty much out of the question anyways. I would say thats way to wide of a wheel to be putting 10.50s on. The 12.50s will stick out a lot on 15x10s but that's just because it's a wide wheel. Wider tires are good for mud/sand. Better flotation and more surface area to pull with. However, flotation is bad when you're talking hwy driving in rain (hydroplaning). 10.50s worked well with my lift otherwise I was probably going to rub more with 12.50s. Only reason i went with the 10.50s. It's going to be a lot more work turning 12.50s on 15x10s though. personally I would say 12.50s on 15x8s is your overall best combo.

Because they don't have to dig through multiple layers of dirt/organic material/sand/mud to reach compact dirt... The size of your tire really depends on what you are going to use it for... 90% of the poeple that use their trucks 4wd feature and put bigger tires on use wider tires for the wrong reson (they think they look better)... Wider tires are good if you need more flotation (mud, snow, etc)... I use my truck more as a base camp vehicle, so it gets skinny tires so I don't have to lift it as much, so it can be more stable on road, and so the tires don't stick out and get caught on anything...

Despite all the 12.50 answers i went with the 10.50's. I finally ordered them a few days ago. I hope to put the lift on and the wheels and tires on soon as possible. When i do, i will post pics. If anyone is wondering i got this package deal with all lugs and hubs sent to my door, mounted and balanced for 1200. Better than other places i have seen :headbang: http://www.desertrat.com/products/?id=5285

Wish I saw this thread earlier... I have 33\10.50\R15 BFG M/T KM2s on my truck. I also have a 6" suspension lift. I love the look of the tires, and I think the 10.50s look meatier than the wider tires... but to be honest, I wish I would've went wider HENSE why I'm swapping tires/wheels with a guy this weekend actually. I'm giving him my 33"\10.50\R15s (80% tred left) on stock Ranger rims and he's giving me his 33"\12.50\R15 BFG M/T KMs (50% tred left) mounted on American Racing deep dish rims. I think it will really improve the look of my truck, and will probably handle better offroad. I had to put on 2" wheel spacers to widen the stance of my truck after getting the lift on 10.50 wide tires. But to each his own, right? :thefinger:

Check out my pics if you want to see my truck on 10.50s. I'll post pics soon with the new 12.50 tires on. I'm at work right now and my work firewall blocks photobuck so I can't attach pics to this post.

dany, your truck looks nice!! The 10.50s are alittle skinny but i couldnt find 1150s and i didnt want to go any bigger than that becuase its my dd. I only go fourwheeling once oh so often. I didnt want my gas to plummit even more by going with 1250s. my truck is a 3.0 liter v6. Its a slug already. lol. That is why i went with the 10.50s. Everything is going to be put on within the next week, i will post pics here and in the show off your truck probably. cant wait, its been to long lol. College needs to end so i can get on it lol:yahoo:

So I decided to swap tires with a guy on craigslist. Let me know what you think. i'm gonna post some pics to the Show Off your truck Forum as well. traded my 33/10.50/R15s that had about 80% tred left on my stock 15x7 Ranger wheels, for his 33/12.50/R15 that have about 60% tred left on American Racing 15x10 deep dish rims. I have always loved the look of these rims, and will eventually throw on some TSLs or some Thorbirds :thefinger:

33x10.50's or 33.12.50's

33x10.50's or 33.12.50's

ya dude those are nice. Like the rims to. The 12.50s do look better i must admit. But im kinda sttuck with my small ass engine. IM still happy though. Keep in touch with my name and look at my truck i will be posting in like a week. You can see mine lol. Can you tell a big difference between the 12.50 and 10.50 like starting off from a dead stop? and handing wise?
