Hey guys Just shopping for selectable locker. I would prefer not to have air lockers. I'm hoping for Electric locker for my rear 8.8. Anybody used or heard any reviews on them? Are they reliable?

From what I was told, it's not a "true" locker. What it does is increase the load on the clutches. Granted, this does lock it up somewhat... but under extreme conditions, it MAY still slip. As I said, that was what I was told.
Now.. if you are going to spend that kind of money, why not toss in a few extra bucks and upgrade to a Detroit locker. You won't have any issues with that idea...and it's automatic.

I beleive the E-locker is a true locker, its the Auburn Ected that is just a ramped up limited slip when 'locked'

Ive heard that they have lots of problems engaging and usually fail when you need them most.

It is a full locker, the ECTED is the one that's actually a super limited slip.

I've heard both good and bad, slightly more good though. I have heard about the problems engaging, guy I met on the trail had issues with that.

Your talking about the Auburn which uses clutches to try and achieve a locker. The Eaton E-Locker is a true locker when engaged. The Auburn is the only one though that I have ever heard guys have problems with, not engaging or disengaging when switched. That's why I'm just curious about the Eaton Electric locker...

i intend to run these lockers. they are excellent.

If you want selectable, why not go with an OX Locker. This excerpt is from TRS Fab and Offroad

Now those a good friend of mine had, albeit a D44 version. Had alot of problems with the cable binding, though to it's merit, he thrashed that thing more than I would ever dare a rental :icon_surprised:. He broke every part on that jeep at some point, except the OX.
