can i get the steel weges from duff or some one and weld them to a wagoneer d44?

You can weld them on, but I dont now if you would have enough room to do so. I had to trim back the cast on my Waggy D44 to get my lower link mounts for my 3 link as far in as possible. I still had to buy wheel spacers for my tires to clear the links. Is this a wide trac or narrow trac waggy axle? My axle is a narrow track axle. 60-61" WMS to WMS. the wide tracs have a little more room as they are roughly 63" WMS to WMS.

yea this guy is trying to sell me one of his waggy wide track 6lugs for 200 each. i dont know about the price? i found a 78 44 with 410 in a bronco and 2 eb axels at a yard today thay told me 250 for axles and RDs. the ebs have drums:annoyed:? but ill try to find a better deal

Get the EB axle and swap in disk outers from a newer pickup.

The only problem with the EB axle is it has the smaller axles and joints.

You should be able to fit wedges on a wide trac axle. you can trim off part of the cast in spring perch for more room too.

I know that, but you can get hardened shaft kits with the bigger u-joints if you have problems.

EB axles are a better choice because they are narrower, better aftermarket support, wedges already welded on, plus waggy D44s are 6 lug. Just my opinion.

im relly thinking that the full width will be beter for me. bigger joint, disk brakes, and i can get the arms, springs, complet axel, for 250$ and its 5 miels from home

im just tring to figer out the best way to mount the rds im extending them 10" or 12 "???(wut ever ends up under the trany member) iv only got 500$ to throw at this right now. i have round and square tubing, chanel, plate, angle iron laying around from my dads work. i just need ideas
somthing that is tranny member and RDs mount billt in.

You should use DOM for extending the radius arms. Anything else will not be strong enough and will bend.

Remember when doing your swap that you're going to have to get DOM, c-bushings, joints or new bushings for the radius arms, and a lot of little misc stuff, so try and price everything out before you start so that you know you'll be able to afford it all.
